About our educational philosophy

Western Tutorial College (established 2011) is an independent institution running A-level and GCSE courses, normally over 1 year. Our groups are small (usually between 2 and 7 students), so in this way we can ensure more targeted learning with your tutor, and are able to develop a better understanding of your abilities and eductional needs. We work in an informal yet academic atmosphere, similar to the tutorial system at university. Our aim is to act as a bridge, and help you to reach your future academic and life goals.

About our staff and tutors

Our tutors bring a wealth of experience from the worlds of teaching, academia and vocational work. All highly qualified in their subject areas, many of our tutors are (or have been) examiners so have an invaluable insight into the examination process, and how best to prepare. About our students

Unlike big schools and colleges, we do not have a 'standard' student. Some of our students come to improve their grades, and others come to get different qualifications in order to change their university study or career direction. The majority of our students are between 18 and 20, but this is not exclusive and everyone works together in a friendly and mature environment...images

Disabled access to the premises

We have classroom, laboratory, WC and kitchen facilities, and we are happy to apply for access arrangements such as large print papers, extra time etc, but will need the appropriate evidence before we can make the application. Please note that you will normally need to be re-tested, even if you have previous test evidence.
